Reset: Towards a New Commons

Commissioned Documentary Installation | 2021

The majority of land owned by New York City Public Housing is unused open space–green fields fenced off to residents, and unsafe, underpopulated asphalt playgrounds. I was commissioned by a team of architects, urban planners and community researchers to document a process where they engaged young adults from New York City Public Housing to re-envision unused public spaces in the housing developments and work with participants to share underrepresented histories and experiences of public housing. The resulting body of work was displayed at the Center for Architecture in New York City in 2022.
